Japan Now 2007
modern performing arts festival
Dear Festival Audience
We are happy – after three successful previous festivals - to present the 2007 edition of the modern performing arts festival Japan Now in Europe. This year 49 dancers, performers, musicians and artists from both Japan and Europe will – beyond common Geisha and No-Theatre clichès - show their recent artistic creations in the cities of Berlin (Germany), Szczecin (Poland) and Prague (Czech Republic).
We are particularily happy about the collaboration of co-producers, including Theaterhaus Mitte Berlin, Teatr Kana Sczezcin and ART Prometheus Praha.
Japan Now 2007 takes place under the patronage of the Ambassador of Japan in Germany, Toshiyuki Takano.
The festival was supported and funded by the Department for Cultural Affairs of the Senat Berlin, the Agency for Cultural Affairs Tokyo, Kultur Japan Fest, the Japan Foundation „Performing Arts JAPAN program“, Förderband e.V Kulturinitiative Berlin and the Asien-Pazifik-Wochen Berlin (Asia Pacific Weeks), which is supported by Stiftung Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin (DKLB).
We wish everybody a great time!
